

Betty Goodwin Minor, 84, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on March 17, 2026, at 10:25 a.m. Born June 9, 1941, Betty will be remembered as a devoted, hard-working, inspirational, and loyal woman whose life touched many through her steady presence and caring heart.
Betty built a remarkable professional life as a Real Estate Agent and Broker for 40 years, serving others with dedication and perseverance. Her work reflected the values she carried every day—commitment, integrity, and a sincere desire to help people find not just a house, but a home.
Outside of her career, Betty found joy in simple and meaningful pleasures. She enjoyed painting, plants, and cats, and she especially loved everything to do with Christmas. She also cherished traveling, embracing the opportunity to see new places and make lasting memories along the way.
Betty’s faith and community were important to her, she was a member of Hunter Street Baptist Church. Her life was a quiet example of steadfast devotion—offered through service, kindness, and loyalty to those she loved and to the community around her.
Betty Goodwin Minor is survived by her children, Alan Wade Helms (Denise); sister, Deborah Elliott; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her mother, Gladys Cooper Morrison; father, Roland Goodwin; and husband, Robert Craig Minor.
Visitation will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, Alabama 35071, on March 20, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel on March 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
Final resting place will be at Oakwood Memorial Gardens, 2100 Moncrief Road, Gardendale, Alabama 35071.
