Betty Ree Hawkins Shelton, of Gardendale, Alabama, passed away on November 5, 2017. She was a devoted member of Gardendale Mt. Vernon Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Troy Ree Hawkins and Naomi Hurst Hawkins of Fultondale, Alabama. She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Leigh Ikner, of Hoover; her son Joseph Ashley Ingram (Holly S. Ingram) of Vestavia Hills; two grandchildren Jeremy Ikner and Jordan Ikner; her brother, Jack Hurst Hawkins (Brenda), and two nieces, Samantha Hawkins Gable and Amber Hawkins. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017, at 1:00 p.m.at Oakwood Memorial Gardens in Gardendale, Alabama. In lieu of flowers please send a donation to the Alabama Kidney Foundation. Services are under the direction of Ridout's Gardendale Chapel.
