Blanche Marie Brooks Calfee of County Line, Alabama went home to be with her LORD on September 9, 2026. She was preceded in death by her mother, Tressie Agnes Brooks, grandparents, Silas Edmond Brooks and Nancy Ann Williams Brooks, and husband, Benjamin Frank Calfee.
She is survived by her son, Curtis Calfee (Janice), daughter Theresa Karen Calfee Heaton (Bobby), 5 grandchildren, Eric Calfee (Susanna), Rodney Calfee (Melinda), Stephen Calvert (Candie), Karen Black (Jared Funderburg) and Kelly Hays, 12 great grandchildren, Kelsey Scott (Michael), Kyle Calvert, Kaleb Calvert (fiancé Aneth Cota), Caleb Calfee, Madyson Calfee (fiancé Christian Missey), Hannah Calfee (fiancé Charles Young IV), Benjamin Calfee, Gabriel Calfee, Jonathan Calfee, Claire White (John), Maggie Calfee, and Lucy Calfee, and 3 great-great grandchildren, John Luke Scott, Kylie Scott and Aiden Scott.
She was a faithful and loving wife to Ben for almost 60 years, and her two children were her pride and joy. As in-laws and grandchildren joined the family, she opened her enormous heart and loved them all with her whole being. She loved to sing and used her beautiful voice to praise and honor the Lord her entire life. She never tired of telling her family and friends about Jesus, because she wanted to make sure her loved ones knew Him. She had the gift of hospitality, and was happiest when surrounded by a house full of happy chatter and laughter.
The family would like to express special thanks and much gratitude to the team at ACG Hospice, who took such good care of her and the entire family as she transitioned from this life to the arms of Jesus. Every person who entered our home was professional, gracious and kind and we owe them all a debt of gratitude. Katie, Mylesa, Nan, Clint, Brittany, Lorie, Amber and Mercedes became an integral part of our family in the last few months. They treated her with great respect and love, and she loved them very much in return, as do we.
We would also like to thank our extended family and friends who prayed for us, checked on us, made sure we had plenty to eat and anything else we needed. Our hearts are so full and we are very blessed.
