

Mrs. Bobbye Nell Hopkins went to be with her Savior and joined her beloved husband Reverend A. Howard Hopkins in heaven December 29th, 2021. The woman who would become known as “Memaw” to most was born Bobbye Nell Tillery October 28th, 1936. Bobbye brought light and love to her family as the Hopkins family matriarch.
“She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue…Her children arise and call her blessed” -Proverbs 31:26-28.
Bobbye is known for her love for God, and her sacrificial love for others. She served God faithfully as a beloved Pastor’s Wife and Missionary for over 50 years. Bobby leaves a legacy as a servant of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Her final words to her family were to “make sure everyone in our family is saved”.
“By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples”. John 15:8.
Bobbye is preceded in death by Rev. A Howard Hopkins, Gurley & Elois Tillery, Ronald Tillery, Brian Hopkins, Johnny Otts.
Bobbye is survived by her 5 children and their spouses Rick Hopkins (Pam), Steve Hopkins (Teresa), Vickie McKnight (Stanley), Donna Otts, Scott Hopkins and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bobbye will also be remembered by her surviving brother and sisters, Peanut Tidwell, Pat Runco, Clarence Tillery, April Bevis.
Bobbye’s homegoing celebration will be held Wednesday, January 5th, 2022, at Good Samaritan Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10:30am-12:00pm, followed by a 12:00pm funeral service. Bobbye will be laid to rest in Hopewell Cemetery, 492 CR 582, Hanceville, AL.
