Boyd H. Pendley, recently of Hayden, Al, was born on January 31, 1938 at Fayette, Al and passed away on October 12, 2020. he was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Lizzie Pendley; brother Cleburne and sisters, Mildred and Greta. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Arlene; sister Doris (Gene) Oglesby; son, Raymond (Jennifer) Pendley; grandsons, Zachary and Benjamin Pendley; sister-in-law, Ellie Stegall and numerous nieces and nephews.
Boyd is a veteran of the US Air Force. He spent the rest of his life working years as a welder in the industrial construction industry. He was retired from Alabama Power and also was a member of the Boilermakers Union.
He attended Hayden First Baptist Church and enjoyed attending Sunday School and Bible studies. He loved the outdoors and like to fish, hunt, hike and camping. He also like to grow fruit, especially blueberries and enjoyed interacting with the people who he shared them with.
The family will receive friends on Sunday October18th at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, in the Fireside Parlor, 2:00-3:00. A Committal Service, with military honors, will be held Monday, October 19th, 11:00 am at Alabama National Veterans Cemetery, Montevallo, AL.
