Brandon attended E.B. Erwin High School and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He had a lifelong love of music, performing in wind ensembles, marching band, and jazz bands in both high school and college, where he played trumpet and French horn.
Brandon worked at the University of Alabama at Birmingham for more than 30 years, most recently serving as a System Analyst in Enterprise Applications & Solutions. He loved technology and built a career that reflected his skill, curiosity, and dedication.

An Eagle Scout, Brandon had a deep desire to help others, previously serving as an EMT and volunteering as a first responder. In his younger years, Brandon enjoyed traveling, taking road trips across the country and visiting other countries, experiences that reflected his curiosity and love of connection.
He is survived by his children, Liam Moon and Aislin Moon; his mother, Dianne McConnell Moon Nichols, and stepfather, Doug Nichols; his brothers, Brian Moon and his wife, Jill Deaver, and Shaun Moon and his wife, Amanda Moon; his step-siblings, Christine Hawkins and her husband, Joe, Amy Petris and her husband, Ryan, and Nathan Nichols; his nieces and nephews, Teagan Moon, Rafe Moon, Austin Richardson, Zoie Nichols, Ashley Hawkins, Zach Petris, and Caden Nichols; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
