Brenda Kay Jones became a gift to this world on 3-23-1947. She was a caring, intelligent, brave, strong willed, independent, Christian, southern lady. Brenda had a passion for learning new skills. She enrolled in several college classes and businesses offering courses where she mastered skills from cake decorating, flower arranging to tax returns and computer programs and volunteered family to learn new skills along with her. One of her last skills learned was knitting. Several family members received new scarfs for Christmas that year. Brenda was often found in her kitchen trying a new recipe, working in her flower beds or on her sewing machine. Her 100 watt smile always lit up a room, especially when her full lips were painted with her signature red lipstick. Brenda was devoted to loving and serving her family, church, friends, and neighbors everyway she could. She had a heart for the hurt whether it was family, friend or stranger. She served them through prayer, fasting, donations and volunteering time for her local neighbors who did without. Some of Brenda’s life advice she passed on was, “a warm bath takes away the days stress; get outside, enjoy the sunshine and God’s beautiful creations; don’t wear sandals unless your toenails are painted; don’t go in public with chipped nail polish; dress and act like a lady to be treated like a lady; lipstick always makes you look better; never pay full price; when traveling, buy a lottery ticket. Someone has to win.” Most importantly she taught to love your God, your neighbor and closely walk daily with Jesus, which is her greatest lifetime accomplishment. On 4-7-21 Jesus restored and took her home from this broken world where she joined her husband, Fred Jones, and other heavenly family including her parents, Jessie and Hazel Reese, sister in law Saundra Reese (Earl). She awaits her family to join her, children Clay Jones (spouse Lizzy) and Jennifer Batesole (spouse Shannon) along with her grandchildren Samantha Yeager (spouse Dustin), Justin Jones, Landon, Lena and Lydia Batesole, sister Linda Amick (spouse JT), brothers Earl Reese, Paul Reese (spouse Cindy), and Jimmy Reese (spouse Rovi) along with loving nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws and friends she’ll greet one day soon.
