

Cleo was born and raised in Alabama, where she spent her life caring for her family and helping others. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Cleo was married to the love of her life, Douglas Jacks, and together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and strong faith.
Cleo was a woman who believed in kindness and hard work. She loved spending time with her family and always made those around her feel cared for and appreciated. She worked for many years as a teacher's aide in the Blount County School District, where she touched the lives of countless students with her patience, warmth, and dedication. Her gentle smile, comforting presence, and caring heart will be remembered by all who knew her.
She was a woman of faith and an active member of Selfville Church of Christ. Her love for God and others was seen in everything she did.
Cleo is survived by her children, Kay Guthrie (Ricky) and Brian "BoBo" Jacks; her sister, Faye McKay; her honorary daughter, Tracy Wooten (Thomas); her grandchildren, Brandi, Andrea (Joshua), and Kyle; her great-grandchildren, Bailey, Stella, Addie, Kaely, Emma, and Olivia; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Jacks, and other loved ones who have gone before her.
A visitation will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, located at 2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, Alabama, 35071, on Thursday, October 23, 2025, starting at 1:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at the same location, beginning at 2:00 pm. The committal service will take place at Moncrief Cemetery in Gardendale, Alabama.
Cleo Jacks will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, dedication to family and community, and the lasting impact she made on everyone she met. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all that knew her.
