Coye Moncrief Garrett

Coye loved the Lord, she was an ordained minister and counselor and faithfully served Him. During WWII she was one of the group of woman who built plans known as “Rosie the riveters.” She had a great love for her family and cherished all the time she was able to share with them.

Coye was preceded in death by her parents, Adolphus and Mary Moncrief; her loving husband of 61 years, Hubert Garrett, and her nine siblings.

Coye is survived by her son, Britt Garrett; her daughter, Cynthia Garrett Miles; four grandchildren, Amy Buchanan (Lyn), Carrie Mertz (Craig), Geoffrey Garrett, and Andrea West; four great grandchildren, Michael Buchanan, Brandon Buchanan (Kelsey), Samantha West, and Lindsey West; three great-great grandchildren, Brantlee, Barrett, and Cash; many other family members and a host of friends.

A celebration of life visitation for Coye will be held Saturday, July 25, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel. A graveside service will follow at Moncrief Cemetery, Gardendale, AL.
