Darrell Ray Hopper, age 50, of Cullman, Alabama passed away June 28, 2019. Darrell was a long time resident of Gardendale, Alabama. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama on January 12, 1969. Darrell graduated from Gardendale High School and Bevill State Community College. He was blessed to have been employed with Johnson Controls for 13 years. Darrell truly had a passion for life, love and family. He also loved Desperation Church where he would worship each week, strengthen his faith and learn more deeply what it means to reflect the love of Jesus. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Hopper and his grandparents: Herman Hopper, Paul Coble, Johnny Boyd and Lillie Mae Boyd. He is survived by his wife, Angie Hopper; his son, Colby Lee Hopper; daughters, Christan Riley Hopper, Chandler Brooke Pennington, Cassidy Jordan Loden (Sheldon) as well as his first grandson, Brody James Loden (due 11/27/19). He is also survived by his parents, Barry and Lynda Boyd Lyle; his special "other mother", Beverly Hill; his grandmother, Ruby "Meemaw" Coble; siblings, Ryan Hopper (Joyce); Jonathan Hopper (Heather) and Wendy Coats (Jason) as well as a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews who love him deeply.
A time of visitation will take place from 12:00-2:00pm on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel. A celebration of Darrell's beautiful life will begin at 2:00pm followed by a graveside service at Oakwood Memorial Gardens. Pastor Andy Heis of Desperation Church officiating.
