David M. Gibbs age 68, of Mt. Olive, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2015. David was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. He was retired from Alabama Power Company after 38 years of service, a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Olive. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Grady Gibbs; and a sister, Mary Nell Walker. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Janice Gibbs; his son, Scott (Stacy); granddaughters, Madison and Mallory; a sister, Deborah Nocella; brothers, Robert (Diane) Gibbs and Charles (Dian), along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Noah Fitzpatrick and New Beacon Hospice, especially Kris Hernadez for all their care. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015, at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 12:00 PM with a visitation two hours prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Oakwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
