Affectionately known as "Dabo" by friends and family, David loved sports, especially golf, baseball and basketball.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramond Lee Johnson and Dorothy Johnson, and aunt, Nell Kirby. He is survived by his brother, Danny Johnson (Janet), niece, Angela Standish (Hunter), and nephew, Brandon Kaylor.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071, with services following at 2:00 p.m. Burial to take place following the service in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, 2100 Moncrief Road, Gardendale, Alabama.
