Don a resident of Gardendale, AL and passed away at the age of 67. Don proudly served our country in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam Conflict, he was a past Commander of the American Legion, Post 255 in Fultondale, Al and he was the founder of the Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Blackcreek Park in Fultondale.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Eva Mae Vaughn; brother, Harold Vaughn and a sister, Rebecca Gowins.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Judy Vaughn; a son Jeffery Vaughn (Kristi); sister, Martha Myrex (Ray); three grandchildren, Hannah Vaughn, Parker Woods and Corey Bartlett, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Services will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Thursday, May 28, 2015 with a visitation beginning at 10am, funeral service at 11am, followed by his burial in Mount Olive Cemetery.
