Doris Murrell

March 20, 1948April 23, 2021

Doris Murrell, age 73, of Gardendale, Alabama passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021. Doris was born March 20, 1948.

Doris was a wonderful, devoted, and loving wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed taking care of her family she loved. She worked with the PTA in the Gardendale schools as her children progressed through the grades and she was very involved with various school programs and was a substitute teacher. She worked many years and retired from Judy's Little People.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Lee Stack and Hazel Louise Rice Stack; her loving husband, Rodney Murrell; and two brothers, Clifford Stack (Donna), Raymond Stack (Martha).

Doris is survived by her two sons, Jared Murrell and Jason Murrell; three sisters, Linda Gaddy (Morris), Barbara Ruth Burkett, Virginia Woodard (Gene); six grandchildren, Grace Murrell, Hudson Murrell, Olivia Murrell, Coleman Murrell, Dakota Murrell, and Emerson Murrell, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

A visitation will occur Sunday, April 25, 2021 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Memorial Gardens, 2100 Moncrief Road, Gardendale, AL 35071.
