Doris, was a long time member of New Georgia Baptist Church where she faithfully served the Lord. She is well known for the beautiful flowers in her yard and her collection of unique rocks. She loved her family dearly and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard G. Smyly; five children, Ronnie L. Wakefield (Sue); Donnie L. Wakefield (Robin); Debbie Belding (James); Jerry Smyly (Irene), and Terry Smyly (Jennifer); 19 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren, and a host of friends.

Celebration of life services will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with a time of visitation to begin at 12:00 PM; funeral service at 1:00pm followed by her burial in Old Union Cemetery, Walker County, Alabama.
