

Jean's life was a beautiful reflection of love, kindness, and unwavering faith. She found her greatest joy in caring for her family and treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, generous heart, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know her.
A faithful member of Beechwood Baptist Church, Jean's relationship with the Lord was the cornerstone of her life. She lived with grace, compassion, humility, and perseverance, faithfully serving both God and those she loved. Her legacy of faith and unconditional love will continue to inspire generations to come.
Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Davis, and her cherished daughter, Doris "Cricket" Willis.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving children, Debra Cotton, Bobby Davis, and Belinda Playlar; her beloved grandchildren, Christie Hess, Chris Cotton, Trisha Stiglet, Zack Cotton, Haley Hill, Emily Melvin, Sarah Davis, and Jon Ryan Hill; twelve treasured great-grandchildren, "with one precious great-grandchild expected soon; along with many extended family members, dear friends, and countless others whose lives were forever enriched by knowing her.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in the promise of eternal life and rejoice knowing Jean's faith has become sight. While she will be deeply missed, her love, wisdom, and gentle spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew her until the joyful day they meet again.
Visitation will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, Alabama 35071, on August 8, 2026, beginning at 10:30 am, followed by A Celebration of Life Service at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel on August 8, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am.
Dorothy’s final resting place will be Oakwood Memorial Gardens, 2100 Moncrief Road, Gardendale, Alabama 35071, US.
