Dwight S. Peoples

Dwight Shotts Peoples retired from Stockham Valves & Fittings in Birmingham where he worked from the age of 19 years old. He was a member of Springdale Baptist Church and was a twin to Dwaine Peoples of Pinson. Anyone that knew Dwight knew he was an avid Alabama sports fan, and of his love for Country music, which he sang around the house often! He married Shirley Smith, the girl next door…literally… and they celebrated 59 years together.

Dwight was preceded in death by his wife Shirley A. Peoples; and his parents, Sam and Flora Peoples.

Dwight is survived by his son, Carl Dwight Peoples; his twin brother, Dwaine Peoples (wife Debbie); sister, Sandra G. Smith (Husband Walter), many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and a host of friends.

A visitation for Dwight will be held Sunday, March 6, 2022 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071, followed by a funeral service from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM.
