Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Hester Johnson and a sister, LaVera Johnson.
Elmer was a loving husband of 68 years to Evelyn, loving father to DeAnn, loving grandfather to Tiffany Honeycutt, and Taylor Keith, loving great grandfather to Bregan Honeycutt, loving friend to his former son-in-law, Charles Keith. He was loved by all who knew him. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict in which he drove a tank. He loved planting a garden and growing vegetables as well as hunting, fishing, and frog gigging.
Services for Elmer will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel with a time of visitation to begin at 10:30 AM; funeral service at 11:00 AM followed by his burial at Oakwood Memorial Gardens, 2100 Moncrief Road, Gardendale, Alabama 35071.
