Erna Lou Hutchinson

Apr 2, 1934 – Feb 17, 2016

Lou, went home to be the Lord at the age of 81. Lou was a Navy brat, her father was a Naval Commander and she attended 13 different schools during the time her dad was serving our country. She was a PBX operator and she loved doing volunteer work at hospitals, she loved the Blue Angles, hummingbirds and blue birds. The ocean and beach was always in her heart. She dearly loved her husband who passed away in 2014 and she enjoyed different crafts and ceramics.

Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Arden Anton and Erna Louise Ewald; her loving husband of 57 years, Donald William Hutchinson and her brothers, Arden Anton Ewald, Jr. and Gerald Lagesen Ewald. She is survived by her two sons, John Stephen Hutchinson (Leslie) and James Lee Hutchinson (Angela); grandchildren, John Stephen Hutchinson, Jr., Paul Whitfield Hutchinson, Andrew Luke Hutchinson, Marie Louise Hutchinson and Sarah Claire Hutchinson.

Services will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Saturday, February 20, 2016 with a visitation to begin at 10am; funeral service at 11am followed by her burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, AL.
