

Ezra “Buck” Lee, of Pelham was born on September 26, 1922 in Cullman and passed away March 25, 2012 at the age of 89. He is preceded in death by his parents Wm. Odis Lee and Katie Lou Scott Lee, his wife of 61 years Pearl Battles Lee, new born daughter Gwendelyn Lee, sisters: Ethel Lee Meeks, Nellie Lee Lindsey and Mildred Lee Meddy. Survivors include his sister, Estelle Lee Zinsmeister; daughter, Connie Lee McElroy (Jerry); granddaughter Tina M. Hogue (William); grandson, Chad C. McElroy (Lori); great grandchildren: Lindsie B. Hogue, Jeremy A. Hogue and Braden R. McElroy. He served his country proudly and is a World War II veteran where he was wounded and received a Purple Heart along with other medals. He was a Past Commander and Life Member of the American Legion General Gorgas Post #1. Rest in peace now my loving soldier, the battle is over. He worked as a locksmith for 44 years where he specialized in safes. His graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until noon at the funeral home.
