

Frank attended Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi, and studied music ministry. He began service to the City of Birmingham Police Department in 1962 as a law enforcement officer and retired after twenty-one years of service. Frank also served the University of Alabama at Birmingham Police Department for seventeen additional years. Frank was an active member of the Masonic, Scottish Rite, and Shriners fraternal organizations. He also served as deacon and elder of several churches. Frank loved training and showing his beloved canines.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Elvie Williamson; three children, Cheryl (David) Strobel, Frank Williamson Jr., Lisa (Scott) Smith; one sister, Paulette (Gary) Watson; five grandsons, Michael (Heather) Strobel, Jonathan (Sabrina) Strobel, Christopher (Amanda) Strobel, Joseph Williamson, John Williamson; two granddaughters, Alyssa (Caleb) Roland and Kayli Smith; seven great-grandchildren, Ashtyn, Tyler, Ryan, Jake, Addisyn, Jackson and Parker.
Services for Frank will begin Friday, October 7, 2022, with visitation at 10 am and the Funeral at 11 am at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL. Burial to follow at Holly Pond Cemetery in Holly Pond, AL.
