Franklin Delano Lee

Franklin Delano Lee (Dale) was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and cherished great-grandfather. Born and raised in Alabama, Dale spent his life surrounded by the people and things he loved most.

For sixty beautiful years, he was married to the love of his life, Barbara Jean Lee. Together, they built a family filled with love, memories, and a lifetime of shared moments. They were blessed with three sons and one daughter, followed by eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, with more blessings still to come.

Dale loved the outdoors. He found joy in hunting, fishing, and simply being outside. But above all, his greatest joy was his family. Seeing all of his babies was one of the greatest blessings of his life, and nothing could bring a sweeter smile to his face. That smile, filled with love and pride, is a memory his family will carry with them forever.

Dale is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Barbara Jean Lee Children: Steven (Christy) Lee, Christopher (Rebecca) Lee, Anthony (Nicole) Lee, and Michelle (James) Sherrill.Brother; Michael Lee, and Sister Aliene Lee. Grandchildren; Austin (Julie) Lee, Blake (Kristina) Lee, Jessica (Spencer) Crane, Chase (Emilee) Lee, Mitchell (Ariel) Lee, Brittney (Jacob) Davis, Matthew (Summer) Lee, and Justin Lee. Great-grandchildren; Sadie Lee, Melody Lee, Declan Lee, Remi Sherrill, Liam Lee, Watson Lee, Addison Crane, Autumn Lee, Truett Crane, Warren Lee, Rowan Sherrill, Benjamin Lee, and Crew Lee.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents; Leland Louise and James Lee, Brothers; Edward Lee, Aubrey Lee, Bobby Lee, Joe Wayne Lee, Allywn Lee, Sisters; Deloris Lee, Myra Bass, and Eleanor Hatcher.

Dale leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and all those who were fortunate enough to know him. Though he will be deeply missed, his love, his memories, and that unforgettable smile will live on in the hearts of his family for generations to come.

Visitation will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 32015 Al - 75, Oneonta, AL 35121, on September 23, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at the same location on September 23, 2026, beginning at 12:00 pm.

A Committal Service will take place at Oakwood Memorial Gardens, 2100 Moncrief Road, Gardendale, Alabama 35071, US, on September 23, 2026.
