He was preceded in death by his parents Preston and Recil Tolbert, and his brother Larry Tolbert.
Gary was a graduate of The University of Montevallo. He loved his grandchildren, grandogs, and watching Atlanta Braves play on TV.
Gary was an avid collector of art glass, paintings, and various assundries from yard sales.
He is survived by his wife. Dianne Tolbert, his sons Brandt (Rachael) and Tyler (Jaime) Tolbert, and his grandchildren Ashleigh, Michael, and Lauren Tolbert.
A visitation will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, Alabama 35071, on October 7, 2026, beginning at 1:00 pm.
A committal service will be held at Moncrief Cemetery, 2055 Moncrief Road, Gardendale, AL 35071, on October 7, 2026, beginning at 2:00 pm.
