Geraldine B. Ratliff died at the age of 86 on March 2, 2019 in the presence of her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband Max Ratliff; her parents Thomas and Ira Barrett, as well as her siblings Eugene Barrett, Cleo Henry, J. T. Barrett, Paul Barrett, Oscar Barrett, and Geneva Henderson. She is survived by her children DeLinda Franklin (Steve), Tammy Jessen (Rodney), and Tim Ratliff (Melinda); six grandchildren Brandi Freeman (Ryan), Stephen Franklin (Christi), Joshua Park (Tamara), Kaitlin Smith (Brian), Kristin Ratliff, and Zachary Ratliff; eight great-grandchildren Cora and Hudson Franklin, Brinson and Jack Park, and Mia and Maely Smith and Emma and Cole Freeman. Geraldine was a realtor with Southern Homes Realty in Gardendale and was a member of the Million Dollar Club. She was an active member of Central and Boyles Baptist churches in Tarrant, teaching Sunday school classes, youth groups, and nursery. In her later life she was a member of First Baptist Church and Central Baptist Church in Gardendale. She loved God and helped lead many people to Christ. She traveled often and was always ready for an adventure.

A celebration of life visitation for Geraldine will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071. A celebration of life service will occur Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071. A burial will occur at Oakwood Memorial Gardens, 2100 Moncrief Road, Gardendale, Alabama 35071.
