Gracie Helen Rhodes

Born on June 13, 1932, Gracie lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep faith, and a love for her family. She was a devoted member of North Gardendale Baptist Church, where her commitment to studying the Bible was a cornerstone of her life.

Gracie worked for many years as a nurse’s aide at Caraway Hospital, where she faithfully cared for others with compassion and dedication. Outside of her work, she found joy in gardening and took great pride in tending to her flowers and plants.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Wesley Rhodes; her sons, Larry Rhodes and Kevin Rhodes; and other cherished family members.

Gracie is survived by her son, Tim Rhodes; her grandchildren, Blake Rhodes, Kyle Rhodes, Jeannie Rhodes, and Patrick Rhodes; many greatgrandchildren; and her brother, Robert Wise. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and perseverance that will continue to live on through her family.

A visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Gardens in Gardendale.

Gracie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
