Guy Carter was born on October 20th, 1956 and he passed away on April 5th, 2017 at the age of 60. Guy Carter was humble in life and fearlessly brave in death. His sister nicknamed him "Brother" possibly because of a quote you may be familiar with: “I sought my soul but my soul I could not see; I sought my God but my God eluded me; I sought my brother and I found all three." We expect the American boy to turn out to be the good American man. Not a coward; not a bully. Thanks to his parents Bob and Betty Carter . . . "Brother Guy" was just that! He was tender to the weak and helpless. Acts of kindness by Guy were commonly given with sincere joy. Funny, you bet! Hard worker, you bet! He set the bar high for us all. He leaves a void which can never be replaced, but lovingly and fondly remembered by all his family and friends. God gave us Guy Carter, the real American man both boys and girls could look up to. All that knew him are left with lasting memories, no matter how long or short their acquaintance. Guy had a spitfire spirit and a gregarious, fun-loving nature that will be missed by many. As we mourn our loss, we rejoice in the confidence that he is now celebrating in his heavenly home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Guy was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Betty Carter and two sons, Tyler R. Carter and Jack J. Waldrop. Guy is survived by his wife, Kathy Waldrop; a brother, Robby Carter (Debra); a sister, Pat Carter Baker (wade); nieces, Lela C. Turner and Shelby Freeman; nephew, Hunter Carter, and a host of friends.
A graveside service will be held in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, AL at 2:00pm on Sunday, April 9, 2017.
Arrangements under the direction of Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, Gardendale, AL.
