Rev. Harold J. Hays Sr., age 94, of Hayden, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. Rev. Harold was born on January 25, 1929 to the late Tom Hays and Nancy Higginbotham Hays. He was a retired Church of God minister after 55 years of service to his community.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Nancy Hays, his loving wife, Christine Newton Hays, and his son, Tommy Hays. He is survived by his five sons, Jessie, Danny, Jerry, Randy, and Chris, thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
The family will receive friends at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. A Celebration of Rev. Harold's Life will begin at 1:00 pm officiated by Brother Paul Rivers. A Committal Service will immediately follow at Hayden Cemetery in Hayden, Alabama by Hayden Church of God (77 Hays Cemetery Rd, Hayden, AL, 35079).
