Harry Jackson Swanson

Harry Jackson "Jackie" Swanson of Gardendale, Alabama, passed away at the age of 80 on April 3, 2020. Mr. Swanson was born in Birmingham, Al to the late Harry S. Swanson and Maude Swanson. He worked for 20 plus years as an ironworker for US Steel. After which he opened up his own painting business. Following that, he worked out his remaining years at Gardendale First Baptist Church, as their painter. He was also a member and a Sunday school teacher at Gardendale First Baptist Church. Left to cherish the memories of Mr. Swanson are his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Nancy C. Swanson of Gardendale; his children, James A. Swanson (Deanna) of Gardendale, Lica Gilley (Eddie) of Gainesville, Fl., Brad Swanson, of Arizona; his grandchildren, Jesse Swanson, Bobby Swanson, Kevin Gilley, Jaclyn Gilley, Mauri Cox, Amberli Boatright, Kristen Swanson; a brother, Jimmy Swanson (Bonnie) of Utah; and a sister, Norma Jean Henry (Fred) of Gardendale; and several great grandchildren.

Due to the gathering restrictions from Covid-19 virus, there will be only an immediate family service at the graveside with a memorial service planned for a later date.
