Herschel N. Thomas

.Herschel N. Thomas, age 84 of Warrior, AL was born on January 22, 1930 in Blount County and passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Alice Lee Duke Thomas, who passed away on February 14, 2014. Herschel is survived by his loving family, his sisters, Martha Turner of Rockledge, Fla., Margaret Turner of Oneonta, AL, Nora Lee Loggins (Jerry) of Warrior, AL, and Reba Jo Barber (Wayne) of Mobile, AL; two brothers, Bruce Thomas (Shirleen) of Hayden, AL and Floyd Thomas (Sharon) of Warrior, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country proudly in the Korean Conflict for two years. He also was a long time member of the Stewart’s Chapel Methodist Church in Warrior.

A visitation will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Tuesday, July 1st from 5 until 8 PM with chapel funeral services on Wednesday beginning at 10 AM. Interment with U.S. Army Military honors will follow in Stewart’s Chapel Cemetery in Warrior. Rev. Arnold Kilgore will officiate services.
