

Irene was a devoted, loving, and caring stay at home Mom who loved her family dearly and cherished all the time she was able to spend with them. She also loved flowers and gardening.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Jasper and Maudie Farmer, her first husband, Oscar Walker and later her second husband, Tom Berry; two daughters, Mary Lucille Walker and Ruby Newton as well as eight of her siblings.
Irene is survived by one daughter, Patricia Mobley and her husband Harold, two sisters, Nell Layfield and Ruth McBee; five grandchildren, Mark Newton (Beunka), Dan Newton (Helen), Angela Mobley, Kerry Mobley, and Andrew Mobley; five great grandchildren, Reed Newton, Taylen Noehren, Calysse Noehren, Charles Mobley, and Leana Mobley; a special friend and caregiver, Dee; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Services will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019 with a time of visitation from 10:00am until 11:00am at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel, followed by a graveside service at 12:00 noon, in Lee’s Chapel Cemetery in Remlap, Alabama.
