Irene Stricklin Tidwell of Gardendale, AL was born in Cullman County on February 11, 1925 and passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the age of 93. She was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellos Tidwell; seven brothers and a sister. She is survived by her loving family, a son, Johnny Tidwell (Lindy); two daughters, Judy Moore and Joan Pinyan (Norman); a sister, Neila Edwards (Leon); her “pride and Joys” grandchildren, Jennifer Deforest, Melissa Poole (Vann), Keyla Tidwell, and Jessica Green (Matt); great grandchildren, Stevie Deforest (Sommer), Tommy Deforest (Paige), Austin Poole, Joshua Poole, and Bradley Poole; great-great grandchildren, Grace Deforest and Jaxson Deforest.
Services will be held on Friday, September 28th, 2018 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 3 PM with visitation one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
