James "Buddy" Jackson

Buddy Jackson was a faithful husband to Yvonne for 53 years, Daddy to Sonya Crane (Jay), Susan Dunn (Allen), and Stacey Jain (AJ), Pawpaw to Kelleigh and Mary Crane, and Avery and Addison Dunn, and a friend to so many. He is also survived by three brothers, Bill, Richie, and Larry, and five sisters, Abbie, Alice, Wanda, Terri, and Kathy. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Jackson, mother, Ellen Kirby, father- and mother-in-law, Joe and Olivia Wheeler, sisters, Ann Gurley

and Mary Elizabeth Jackson, and brother, Johnny Jackson.

If you ever met him, he probably told you about Jesus, the latest joke, something about Alabama football, or asked if you wanted to buy or sell a vehicle.

He fought Parkinson’s Disease for 16 years and his body is finally free and he is safe at Home.

If there are cars in heaven, his is a ’57 Chevy with a plate that says “Go Bama.”

We will love and miss him always.

To Dana, Lisa, Dee, and Chad with ComfortCare Home Health, who cared for him for two years; Jamie, Aya, and all of the hospice staff with ComfortCare Hospice; and Becky Phillips, his personal caregiver, we are forever grateful for the love and support you all have shown him in his hours of need.

Visitation will be Friday, January 3, 2020 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. Services will be held at Gardendale Church of the Nazarene, 1800 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071.
