77, of Hayden, went home to be with Jesus on March 6, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, John B. Crawford, and Edna Pearl Crawford. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sandra McDowell Crawford; his son, Chris (Wendy) Crawford; his granddaughter, Zoey Crawford, his grandson, Christopher Crawford; his sister, Laverne Moore; his sister-in-law, Linda Barrett; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was a member of Smokerise Baptist Church, where he actively served as a greeter and in the outreach ministry. He worked for Jefferson County Department of Revenue for 25 years. He touched many lives with his genuine concern for everyone’s well-being. Jim loved his family and friends dearly, and they loved him. Visitation Thursday, March 8th, 2012, from 5-7 PM at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel. Funeral service Friday, March 9th, 2012 at 2:00 PM, with burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
