

Chief Master Sergeant, James Arthur Doak enlisted in the Air National Guard on March 3rd, 1970, after graduating from West End High School in 1968. He retired on February 2nd, 2010, with the earned rank of Chief Master Sergeant with 40 years of service. Chief Doak also worked as a Senior Health Care Technician at 117 Medical Group in Birmingham, Alabama. He earned his bachelor's degree in history and social sciences from UAB and master's degree in public health from UAB.
James Arthur Doak is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Joyce Doak; children, Kerry Ahrenholtz, Harold Martin (Debra), Donna Parish (Russell), Glenn Doak, Rachel Doak, and James Doak (Ashley); and eight grandchildren. He is predeceased by his son, Kevin Doak.
The Doak family expresses how much James' presence meant to them over the years and just how much he will be missed yet will be carried in their hearts for eternity.
A visitation for James will be held Monday, August 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, Alabama 35071, followed by a celebration of life service at 11:00 AM.
