Jimmy was born in Walkers Chapel, AL and passed away peacefully at the age of 77. Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Walkers Chapel. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Mell and Maurine Fields; brother, John William Fields and a sister, Peggy Fields McIntosh. Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Merita Styles Fields; sons, Terrell Fields (Lynne), Robert Fields (Sandy); daughters, Melissa Duke (Alan), Lynn Mitchell (Scott); brother, Ray Fields (Rebecca); grandchildren, James Hodges, Jonathan Duke, Spencer Duke, Dylan Fields, Blake Fields, Blake Massey, Lauren Ezekiel, Leslie McCutcheon, Donovan Mitchell, Courtney Mitchell, Nicholas Mitchell; great grandchildren, Macee McCutcheon, Karsyn Mitchell and Braylen Mitchell, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
A visitation will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel, Monday, June 2 from 12:30pm until 2:30 pm with a graveside service to follow in Walkers Chapel Cemetery at 3:00pm.
