Jimmy was an ordained minister known for his faith and passion for gospel music. With his wife Deb, the “The Faith Singers” touched many lives with His message for over 40 years. Jimmy was always positive and upbeat even after he became disabled and he was always encouraging and lifting up others. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather and he cherished his family and dear friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Annie B. Leonard and his oldest brother, John Leonard.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Debra Leonard; his three children, James Wayne Leonard, Jr. (Toni) of Jacksonville, FL, Jamie Williams (Jeremy) of Jasper, AL, and Melanie Reed (Gabriel) of Tampa, FL; two brothers, William “Bill” Leonard (Mouresa) of Sardis, AL and Robert “Bobby” Leonard (Jane) of Chattanooga, TN; seven grandchildren, Cody Williams of Jasper, AL, Tyler Leonard of Gainesville, FL, Kaitlyn Reed of Mobile, AL, Christian Williams of Tuscaloosa, AL, Briana Leonard of Tallahassee, FL and Sierra Reed and Alexis Reed of Tampa, FL as well as many other family members and friends.
A graveside service for Jimmy will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11:30 AM at New Bethel Baptist Cemetery, 1854 Warrior Jasper Road, Warrior, AL 35180.
Due to the issues concerning Covid the family request that face mask and social distancing be practiced at the graveside.
Pallbearers: Jeremy Williams, Cody Williams, Gabriel Reed, Tyler Leonard, Bobby Leonard, and Bill Leonard.
