James Steven Polk

James was known as an absolute social butterfly with a deep dedication to his family and a strong work ethic. He loved to travel, including cruises to many different countries. One of his biggest passions was cooking, especially for his family during the holidays.

James spent a lot of his time raising some of his best companions which were his many Shih tzu dogs over the years. He also had a passion for nature and spending his time outside soaking up the sun by his pool or creating a beautiful landscape for his loved ones to enjoy along his side. James was a man who took pride in how he conducted and carried himself, he always ensured to present himself dressed well and composed while taking a drive in his red Nissan 370Z.

Mr. Polk had an extended and successful career, holding on to his integrity and expanding his leadership skills over the years, graduating from the University of Georgia, to becoming a Financial Advisor, then on to retiring from the State of Florida.

James Steven Polk is survived by his three daughters, Jennifer Whitworth, Melissa Steward, Stacey Waters; sister, Debbie Robinson; nieces, Sandee Scyoc, Amanda Robinson; nephew, Josh Robinson; grandchildren, Carly Childress, Mikey Steward, Isaiah Steward, Sarah Steward, and Austin Waters; great-grandchildren, Lucy Fines and Emmett Fuller. He is predeceased by his parents, Robert Polk and mother, Sylvia Polk; sisters, Carol Monak and Judith Kaplan; niece, Barbie Meyer; and beloved grandson, Brandon Polk.

Mr. Polk will be missed, but he gave his heart to his Savior, Jesus three months ago. His family knows that they will see him again in Heaven. The legacy he has left behind will always be cherished and carried out by his host of family, friends, and extended loved ones.
