James Raymond Zorn of Birmingham was born on February 4, 1923 and passed away on July 9, 2013 at the age of 90. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during WWII. He owned Alabama Lumber until August, 2003.
He is preceded in death by his wife Margaret Beasley Zorn and son Donald R. Zorn. Survivors include his daughter-in-law Nell Walker Zorn, grandchildren Donald Raymond Zorn, Jr. (Tiffany), Heather Kelly (Ryan); great grandchildren Kara Davis, Kylie Davis, Ian Kelly, Christian Zorn, and special friend Mary Allen. The family would like to extend special thanks to Alacare Hospice and Home Helpers of Hoover.
A funeral service will be Friday, July 12, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Pawnee Missionary Baptist Church, at 2370 Hewitt Drive, Birmingham, AL, officiated by Rev. Tony Mitchell with a visitation beginning one hour prior. Interment will follow at Pawnee Baptist Cemetery with U.S. Military Honors.
