Janet Lea Underwood

Janet worked at Simmon Williamson clinic and Norwood clinic as a medical biller and coder. She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, and making jokes.

Janet was a dedicated family woman who loved deeply, and no matter the situation Janet always had a witty comment or comeback always making everyone smile. Her laugh was contagious and she brought joy to anyone around her.

She is survived by her cherished family: her son, Matthew Underwood; her son and daughter-in-law Brandon and Miranda Underwood; and her grandchildren, Jarrod, Haley, and Dallas Underwood, who lovingly called her Nannie. Janet is also survived by Sister Marcia Hazelrig, a host of nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and extended relatives.

Services for Janet will be held Monday, October 28, 2024 at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL. A time of visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM; a Celebration of life at 11:30 AM; followed by her burial in Walker Chapel Memorial Gardens, Fultondale, AL.
