Jerry served in the U.S. Army in the 9th infantry from January 1967 - May 1970. For over 15 years he was a long haul truck driver, criss crossing the highways of America with dedication and pride. He loved the solitude of the road, the changing of the skies, and the rhythm of the diesel engine. He answered to the handle of 'Jug Head'. Later in life he found great joy in bringing smiles to the face of children and the elderly by playing Santa every Christmas. He was a die hard Alabama fan and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren just as much.
