Joe Richard Burnette, age 90 of Gardendale, AL passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018. Joe retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant and later enjoyed carpentry and remodeling houses. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Geneva Jenkins Burnette; parents, Dewey and Gertrude Burnette; four sisters and a brother. Mr. Burnette is survived by his wife, Mavis Burnette; daughter, Diane Campbell; step-sons, Richard Roberson and Russell Roberson; four granddaughters; three grandsons; and four great-grandchildren; special family, Judy Morgan, Betty Sandlin, and Violet Burnette; and special neighbors, Crystal and Doug Stevens and their sons, Bryce and Brian; and especially Domino, his pet and best friend.
Services will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 11am with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow with US Air Force Military Honors in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
