JOSEPH C. ROBERTS, age 88 of Gardendale, AL passed away on September 25, 2010. He was a member of the Decatur Highway Church of Christ and retired from L & N Railroad with 38 years of service. He was a humble, kind and generous person who was loved by many. He was preceded in death by his son, Glenn Dale Roberts. He is suvived by his wife of 71 years, Clayton B. Roberts; daughters, Frances Swann of Fultondale, Martha Scarbrough (Kenneth) of Baton Rouge, LA, and Edith Quick (Roger) of Gardendale; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and a brother, Astor Roberts of Athens, AL. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 29th at 11:00 a.m. from Ridout's Gardendale Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum.
