Josie J. Helton

She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Theresa (Meigs) Helton and by sisters and brothers, J.P., Grover, Frances, Merle, Billy Joe, Harry, Bobby, Stevie Joe and Betty.

Survivors include her daughter, Kandy Smith; sons, Joey Durrett and Kenny Durrett (Rita); brother, Roland Helton; grandchildren, Joyle Nichole Durrett, Michael Moore, Matthew Moore, Wesley Durrett, Amy Thomas, Chad Durrett, Mindi McKinney, Cassie Robinson, Courtney Shotts, Hannah Thomas, Courtney Smith, Carmen Gunter and Casey Smith; 13 great grandchildren with 3 on the way. She also leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.

Josie, aka “Grandmother”, had a spunky personality that could light up a room. She enjoyed her scrapbooking and preserving memories through all her pictures. Most of all she loved her family. This was evident by the way she always planned family reunions and did everything she could to get everyone there! She was always full of fun and surprises. She will be missed by many!

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Randolph, Alabama on Friday, November 26, 2021 at 11:00 am. Chad Durrett will officiate.
