Joy Knight

Born January 10, 1938 in Birmingham Alabama. She is survived by her loving family, Daughters Susan Pledger of Fultondale, Alabama and Annette Debinski (Tom) of Mansfield, Texas; her Grandchildren,

Collette Pledger, Leigh Ann Plowman, (Joe), Anna Lewis (Landon) and Joy Debinski

(Zeke); her Great Grandchildren, Addison and Ella Pledger, Blake and Madison Lewis, Roman, Royal, Ryleigh, River and Reese Plowman; Sister in law, Barbara Martin (Earl); Nephews, Keith and Kevin Martin and numerous Cousins and Friends.

She was a member of Sharon Heights Baptist Church and the Sisters in Christ Senior Ladies Sunday School Class. She loved flowers. She started playing the piano at an early age.

Playing the piano lifelong, she played for countless weddings, funerals and was the church pianist for many years. She was given a gift of music in her heart. She touched many lives with this gift. She served the Lord with this special gift of music. She worked at Sears Roebuck, retiring in 2004. She loved watching Alabama football, cheering for them every game with a big Roll Tide.

The family wishes to thank many friends and neighbors for their immeasurable

support and loving care.

She was very much loved and will be greatly missed.

A visitation for Joy will be held Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM.
