Joyce McCay Russell

Russell, Mary Joyce Smith McCay, age 86 of Gardendale, passed away on October 29, 2015. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church and the Eastern Star. She loved her family and her flowers. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Fred McCay and William L. Russell; parents, Lee and Jessie Sherbet Smith; brother, Richard Smith; sister, Virgie Smith Helton; stepdaughter, Denise Brown; and grandson, Clay Tipton. She is survived by her sons Kenneth (Shirley) McCay of Locust Fork, AL, Fred Grayling (Kimberly) McCay of Delrose, TN; daughter, Denise McCay of Odenville, Al; stepson, Terry (Darla) Russell of Gardendale; brother, Frank Smith of Fackler, AL; sister, Ruby Smith Hunter of Redlands, California; six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 1, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel with burial to follow at Edgewood Cemetery in Locust Fork, AL. Visitation will be Saturday evening October 31, 2015 from 5:30 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Bro. Kreg Reid and Bro. Johnny Allred will be officiating.
