She attended West Point High School where she met Reno, the love of her life. They were married for 73 years before his passing on October 1, 2025.
Joyce was a homemaker who spent her time enjoying gardening, growing flowers, sewing, and crocheting. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially the Ladies Sunday School class at Welcome #2 Missionary Baptist Church. She also enjoyed watching the hummingbirds at their feeders and liked to collect hummingbird themed items. She also liked collecting decorative lighthouses and had many around the house.
Joyce was greeted at the gates of Heaven by her parents, brothers Reburn Shoemaker Jr. and Bobby Shoemaker, sister Melba Heiret, grandson Derek Wren, and her beloved husband Willie Reno.
She is survived by her children Kathy Nobles, Willie Wren Jr. (Amy), and Christopher Wren; brothers Charles Shoemaker (Janelle) and Garey Shoemaker (Elta); 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joyce Josephine Wren will be greatly missed.
