Juanita loved the Lord, she loved her church, Walkers Chapel Baptist, and she loved to teach Sunday school and VBS. Her passion was to spread the word of Christ with all his children.
Juanita was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, George M. Hill, and her sister, Ora Mull.
Juanita is survived by her daughters, Janey Hall (Randy), Marcia Alford (John), and Sandra Tedder; her son, Billy Wayne Hill (Debbie); sisters, Betty McLaughlin, Martha Sumpter, and Marie Wilson; a brother, Buzz Kelley (Nelda), nine grandchildren, Tracy, Kelly, Carrie, Michael, John, Amy, Heather, Dana, and Brandon; fifteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a host of friends and extended family.
Juanita loved sewing, specifically crosses and scissor holders and she affectionately became known as the “Scissor Lady” by many. She shared her crosses with adults and children as far away as Haiti and everyone she met always left with a cross in their pocket and scissor holder for their fridge. She was a beautiful, gentile soul who will be missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting her.
Celebration of life services will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Sunday, June 7th, 2020, with a time of visitation to begin at 1:00pm; service at 2:00pm followed by her burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
