This note was received from Judy's oncologist:

Dear Mr Compton and family, 

 I wanted to share with you our sympathy over the recent passing of your beautiful wife, who not only was a wonderful spouse, mother, person, but also true friend as well as patient. Not only did she have incredible strength, courage, faith and fight, but was so kind, caring, loving, graceful, humble, spiritual, and “all about others'! She will be missed by many. Mrs Compton fought a phenomenal battle over the past 16 months against a relentless, recurring and resistant breast cancer. Your wife, you and your daughters did everything humanly possible, leaving no stones unturned; however, she was given insurmountable odds as her disease continued to recur, become widespread and resistant. In fact, if will alone was enough, Judy Compton would be alive and well with us today. Mr Compton, you were a phenomenal husband, being at your wife's side at every moment to insure optimal quality of life and care, while proving incredible love and support. She absolutely knew your love! I know that you and you daughters can keep your head high, knowing what a fabulous job you and Mrs Compton did, fully and very apparently, accepting our great Lord's challenge to you, his children and disciples, in setting forth his word and  legacy through your family , friends, and physician, as perfect disciples of our Father. As I stated, ya'lls peace and grace throughout the fight, and especially at the end, was in the top percentile of all of my patients and families over 30 years, which in most cases is not present,creating stress conflict,and chaos, as opposed to your wonderful family. I loved your wife, and love you and your beautiful daughters, appreciate your thoughts, and send my love and prayers with you this afternoon. Please feel free to call or come by anytime. You are one special man.

Dearest Al, Jennifer, Ian, and Jillian,
My heart is heavy for all of you.  Your loss is all of our loss. I loved my dear cousin so much and will miss coming by to see her as often as possible and chatting on the phone and emails.  Our childhood memories are flooding into my mind of Judy, Paul, Aunt Thelma and Uncle Mark. Iknow they had a grand reunion in Heaven along with her 'Buddy' and Aunt Edna...Our loss is their gain.
You all are in my prayers and I look forward to the day you can come by to see us as often as possible. Love to all, Charlotte

Our prayer is that you will feel comfort and peace through this hard time.  We will always cherish the laughter and memories of adventures we shared with Judy, Al, Jennifer and Jillian.  Judy had such a a great sense on humor and she will be missed by so many!!

I knew your mother at Judson. She was a delight and I see that she still had that smile that could light up a room. My prayers for your family.
