

Kenneth R. Camp, age 74 of Gardendale passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2013. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Kenneth served his country proudly in the US Army and was recalled to service during the Bay of Pigs. He was retired from RexAm after 35 years of service. He was a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church for more than 60 years. Kenneth served as president and Board of Trustee of Gardendale Little League Football Association. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide football fan and enjoyed NASCAR racing as well. He was preceded indeath by his parents, Clifton and Alice Camp; and a twin sister, Martha Pledger (Dennis). He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 48 years, Patricia Camp; sons, Kenny Camp, Jason Camp (Julie), and Kevin Camp; his daughter, Astarsha Camp Hillin (Jeff); brothers, Bobby Camp (Dot) and Jimmy Camp (Sue); grandchildren, Daniel Norwood, Chelsea Hillin, Braeden Camp, and Isabella Camp, great grandchildren, Chloe Willingham and Zoey Green; aunts, Ila Lee, Dot Manley,; uncle, Sonny Little, and his loving pets, Ike and Callie.
A visitation will be planned for Wednesday evening from 5 until 8 PM at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with chapel services Thursday, December 12th at 1 PM. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens. Rev. Mark Harrison will officiate the service.
