Mr. Larry Dow Anderson Sr

Mr. Larry Dow Anderson Sr., age 80, of Warrior, Alabama, was born June 13, 1945, in Alabama, and passed away March 22, 2026, at 7:30 a.m. Larry was an adventurous, generous, compassionate, and hard-working man whose life was marked by steady devotion to family, service, and community.

Larry graduated from Warrior High School, Class of 1963. He proudly served in the United States Navy, and after his service he began a 60-year career in the Power Transmission Business. During that time, he served as Vice President and partner in Industrial Supplies for 20 years and was Co-owner of A&A Resources for 20 years. Larry also served on the Alabama State Republican Executive Committee and the Blount City Republican Executive Committee. He served on the board at Kiva Dunes for 25 years, where the staff became extended family members.

Larry enjoyed spending weekends on Smith Lake with his family riding on his Alabama Boat. He also enjoyed watching and attending Alabama Football games.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Anderson Carter; his father, Lorenzo Anderson; and two brothers, Don Anderson and Eddie Anderson.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Brenda Shirley Anderson; three sons, Larry (Elise) Anderson, Stephen (Melissa) Anderson, and David (Darnell) Anderson; grandchildren, Britney (Nick) Crocker, Chance Anderson, Bailey Anderson, Cheyanne (Tristan) Myers, Kinsley Anderson, Haley (Hunter) Jennings, Savannah Anderson, and Cody Daniel; great-grandchildren, Easton, Ayla, Oaklynn, Valley, Dalton, and Jonesen Dow (his pride and joy the last three months); a brother, George (Lavonda) Anderson; a sister-in-law, Faye Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to extend special thanks to his caregivers, Lola and Tolisha, Dr. Fain and Dr. Nichols, and also to Dr. Micky Barber with Better Life Carolina's.

Visitation will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071, on March 25, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071, on March 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. The service will be followed by a Committal Service at Hayden Cemetery, 81 Hays Cemetery Rd, Hayden, AL 35079.
